How do you DEFEAT Frostclaw?
We're literally dying here trying to take the monster down.
Did you notice that they also removed paralyzing onslaught? They call it "Stun Charge" now, but nothing seems to get stunned when you use it. It's not really a biggie, because there are a couple of other DK skills that can stun monsters.
Wait until I'm level 40. Let's go back and kick Frostclaw's ass!
My only encounter with frostclaw thus far is walking past the statue at the entrance, and suddenly findng myself on board the rapid response unit, en-route back to my last town. I have only just become a lvl 30 SW, which after the 'dreaded update' has been a bit of a struggle.
I started reading up on frostclas vis google searches, and I am wondering whether on DS they follow similar 'rules' to my other RPG, Diablo (2 ATM, 3 in a few days time :) ), where certain characters have immunities based on their type.
I would imagine that since frostclaw has 'cold attacks' he is very likely to be cold immune. I would also imagine he is likely to be lightning and fire immune also, leaving just physical. As a SW I don't have that option, and therefore, again, only guessing here, the best ally against him would be the Dragonknight.
Since there seems to be no other documentation around, from anyone tough enough to conquer him, its hard to say whenther my theory carries any weight at all.
The only thing I do know for certain, is that he bloody well hurts, and hits damn hard!! I occassionally just im to visit him when I need an express trip back to town, so I guess he does have some positive attributes.
Not really intending this to help, but just thorwing my 2 cents in the ring.
Cheers guys, and good luck. Perhaps a post or two when you have taken him out, to help we poor now weakened SW etc!! :)
Awesome, Steve. We also used him as a means to get back to town really quick during the time when we were still questing about in the area.
We're having the same problem in terms of finding documentation on how to beat Mr. Frostclaw. Certainly enough people bragging that they've done it, you'd think they'd let others know how.
Man, it's tough being a Spellweaver these days, eh? Hope the developers do something about it soon.

You can use it if you distribute your talent points to it instead of the Ground Breaker (which I did...it was tied).
DeleteI miss my Paralyzing Onslaught because it was a part of my 3-skill stun arsenal (Paralyzing Onslaught, Ground Breaker, and Iron Brow).
Malapit ka ng mag Level 40? :D
Halfway to 40. Two more surprises.. Dragons spit fireballs! And new creatures at Fortress Teganswall!
ReplyDeleteYeah, those spit(fire)balls have been surprising to say the least. Just when you think you're far away enough...then BAM!
DeleteWe've encountered the new creatures. Kinda reminds me of orcs. He he he! :D
